MR DOWLING ASKED THE MINISTER FOR MAIN ROADS (MR WALLACE) -
QUESTION:
With reference to the Minister’s response to Question on Notice No.1980 - Following the resolution through consent order in court regarding the use and access from Cleveland Redland Bay Road to the truck depot opposite Anita Street, Redland Bay, what action will the Minister take following the ruling that the current entry is unlawful and the lawful entry (100m north approximately) facilitates a left in left out only?
ANSWER:
I thank the Member for Redlands for his question. As the member would be aware, the Anita Street intersection is unique as it is a residential pocket sitting on the edge of the Cleveland Redland Bay Road corridor, containing around 350 households.
My department is undertaking preliminary investigations as part of its long-term planning for the area, including this section of Cleveland-Redland Bay Road, which is expected to further inform the department’s planning proposals for the area. Planning initiatives will eventually reduce the number of direct accesses along Cleveland Redland Bay-Road, including the Anita Street intersection.
My department continues to work towards resolving the use of access from Cleveland-Bay Road to the truck yard opposite Anita Street with this important compliance issue under Crown Law consideration.
