New Shadow Minister to help with Flood Recovery

Newly-appointed Shadow Minister for Flood Recovery Peter Dowling today said it was a privilege to take on the new role and the responsibility it carried.

Mr Dowling, the LNP Member for Redlands, said since being appointed last Thursday he’d visited many flood-hit communities to inspect damage and help deliver relief packages to many in need.

"I joined a convoy travelling to Ipswich where I met with flood coordinators and discussed the impacts on his community and helped deliver much needed supplies,” Mr Dowling said.

Mr Dowling also inspected and helped clean up in Moggill with State Member Bruce Flegg.

“Dr Flegg showed me around his community including areas of Bellbowrie, Karalee, and Kenmore to see the devastation.

“I have also inspected other flood effected suburbs of  Indooroopilly, Rocklea West End, Sherwood, Acacia Ridge.

"On touring some of the areas I met Redland City Council residents hard at work in the clean up. It was great to see local residents from the Redlands pitching in to help those in need who suffered water inundation to their properties during the recent flood," Mr Dowling said.

Mr Dowling said he appreciated the support and donations that have been made by residents of Redlands.
